Nestled within the borders of the Poitou, the Touraine and the Berry area, the Regional Natural Reserve of Brenne combines a water kingdom and the old style countryside giving you an exceptional environment where flora and fauna open out in full freedom.
More commonly called the country of a Thousand Lakes, one counts today nearly 1500 lakes covering approximately 9,000 hectares (22,500 acres) of water which represents the third largest area of lakes in France. These lakes therefore create the identity of the Brenne.

Forgotten and unspoilt for a very a long time, the Brenne is today the highlight of the department of Indre. The local housing market is always constant and is rather well balanced. With the increasing arrival visitors, the number of second homes is on the rise. The prices, however, still remain very accessible, and a broad choice of products is available for sale; from farmhouses to barns to be restored, from village houses and new homes to the up market residences and hunting estates, each one can find his or her dream property here. |
